Grow Your Roots
Grow Your Roots is run by Melanie, and is a 100% vegan catering business serving Ottawa and the Ottawa Valley. Melanie began by selling deep-fried beer battered avocados, donuts and vegan sausages at the Carp Farmer’s Market, but hopes to soon open a full service restaurant In Ottawa’s West End. In the meantime, if you need a vegan caterer Melanie has earned accolades for not only her delicious food, but also her attention to detail and excellent customer service.
A mother/daughter team owns and operates SweetCheeks Kitchen in Almonte ON, just outside of Ottawa. They run a dedicated gluten-free and vegan kitchen, where all sweet and savoury goodies are handcrafted in small batches, then sent out to cafes (i.e. Equator) and retail stores around the Ottawa and valley area. Private orders are always welcome, including special occasion cakes and small event catering. No storefront.
Purple Radish Kitchen is a fully vegan and gluten free meal delivery service. It currently offers three levels of plan, from dinners only for the week, to all three meals, with five different dishes for each meal. The menu changes weekly, and is focused on tasty comforts with a healthy twist. All meals are whole food based with very minimal processed foods if any, and low fat.

Fauxmagerie Zengarry makes raw, fermented, organic, vegan “cheezes” made out of cashews in a variety of flavours including brie, garlic and fine herb, gruyere, sundried tomato and basil, smokey jalapeno, and her new Réserve Spéciale Collection flavours including Holiday Brie, Pub Cheddar, Rosemary Blueberry Chèvre and Aged Cumin Gruyère. Even non-vegans go crazy for these products.
They are available at most local health food stores, and at local markets. Zengarry recently introduced fauxmage by mail order as well. Owner Lynda Turner puts on several fauxmage-making workshops every year which sell out quickly. Visit the Zengarry website for recipe and entertaining ideas.

good food 2 U
Ottawa has a number of vegetable delivery services, but few seek to cater to the vegan community to the same extent as good food 2 U. This delivery service is owned and operated by Jennifer Williams and Yannick Carriere; Jennifer is the former CEO of Camino chocolate. They have vegetable and fruit boxes, but also quite a few add ons including Zengarry, various faux meats, Chao, Daiya and Earth Balance. Delivery is free on orders over $35.
